I created this painting as a symbol of innocent purity and cheerfulness this flower and the green grass emanate. Daisies light up rooms with their bright centers and adorable, delicate petals. Starting thousands of years ago and continuing until today, daisies have represented innocence, cheerfulness, purity, love, new beginnings, chastity, humility and hope. They seem so happy with their sun-like center surrounded by delicate white petals – it almost looks a bit like a bright sun beaming through a cloud.

Daisy petals fold up at night and open in the morning. While many flowers open and close with changes in light, daisies are some of the first flowers to open each morning. This phenomenon also created the saying “fresh as a daisy” for someone who feels bright and ready to go in the morning.

While the green grass is a great symbol of community and togetherness, green on its own is a symbol for health or general well-being, abundance, it is also a great symbol for growth and expansion.
